I was just minding my own business and this broad keeps giving me the eye. At first I ignored it because it could have been my imagination. Besides, she was with a man and they looked to be more than just friends. I moved to the other side of the room and she had to twist her neck all the way around to flash me a big beaming smile. Seven o’clock on a Tuesday night, I just want to shoot some pool, have a few beers and go home.

She kept it up and I figured, what the hell? She’s cute with a nice body, who knows what could happen. I started smiling back and arched my brow. I went on for a bit until her man went outside and she walked to my table. She said, he’s not really her boyfriend but “he thinks he is”. She asked for my number. I could see it was a situation I didn’t want to get involved in so I gave her a fake number, figuring that would be the end of it. She went to her table when she say her guy come in.
I didn’t think anything of it a I shot pool and drank my beer. Eventually I had to go to the bathroom. she caught the door before it closed, followed me in wand locked it. She said, “I’m probably going to get in a lot of trouble for this butโ€ฆ”

BANG! The door flew open and knocked a whole in the wall. It was the first time I noticed how big he was, “Get the fuck out of her before I kill you!” His face was bright red and veins showed in his neck. I was already out the door with my hands in the air, just minding my own business.

I got back to the table and told my cousin to watch my back. He had no clue what I was talking about. It was my turn to play pool and I smiled and acted like nothing happened while her boyfriend seethed in the other room. Two of his friends prevented him from getting up. He was lucky to have such good friends. Because I had some good friends who liked to watch my back and wouldn’t hesitate to put the beats to him. Finally he grabbed his girlfriend by the arm and left.

I went back to minding my own business.

I can’t say my life is as exciting as yours…i’ve been a witness to drama but not usually the participant.

      2. Do you consider my life dramatic? I find it exciting! I never cause trouble. Unless you consider yourself trouble? i mean, I sat at home alone and liked your poem the other day. Shit just happens while I am minding my own business! Make sense?

      3. This story definitely, well in my head dramatic and exciting mean same thing !
